By The Way : Drop-box

To make book –returns more convenient, we are setting up drop-boxes all over Pune. When we look for partners to set up drop-boxes, we look for people who treat their customers as special and are always looking at ‘wow’ing their customers.

By The Way, a new restaurant on Fergusson College Road is one such place.

It is managed by the same team that runs Shabri, the restaurant on Ghole Road famous for vegetarian food, Maharashtrian thali and Zaika, the spice-cream.  By The Way looks all set to take a similar position in non-vegetarian and Continental cuisine. While all the cuisines – Indian, Thai, Continental are recommended, the continental breakfast is a must-have.

The decor is very well-done: it’s a Mediterranean style, with whitewashed walls,  deep niches with lamps,  wooden furnishings, and low ceilings. You never feel you’re right on the busy FC Road!

Hrishikesh, who runs the place, has been kind enough to offer the sitting area near the entrance to our subscribers during the day. So if you’re not yet done with Detective Sonchai Jitpleecheep, you can finish reading your book in the sitting area, drop it in the Tender Leaves drop-box before proceeding to your bowl of steamed rice with Thai Green Curry followed by chocolate bomb!

Yes – the chocolate bomb is GOOD. Try it.

Here is a map with directions to the place – it is right next to Tukaram Paduka Chowk, on Fergusson College Road.

For our library members : if you are living in the Deccan/Shivajinagar/Model Colony area, By The Way should be a convenient place for you to drop the books you wish to return to us and have a good meal too!
